This latest blockbuster is well-directed, with a lot of nice narrative touches - even a half-decent performance from Ronaldinho - but... I just feel like I've seen it before.
In fact it leads me to ask a question that until recently was unthinkable.
Is Nike still cool?

Rhetorical question?
I'd say no but lets wait for CP+B's reply to that question.
nope, not cool anymore. I'm getting bored of it.
they stopped to reinvent themselves with every commercial and start to refer to their own work. as this is somehow a mixture between the "underground football" commercial with Eric Cantona and the "beat" films for freestyle.
I was not sure if I liked the fact that CP+B is taking over a part of the account from WK, but maybe that's what Nike needs right now.
really dated. makes them feel like a dad brand. they definitely need to change their tone of voice fast.
whether or not you like those doodling adidias ads, at least trying something different.
nike (and W+K) has had an unbelievably long run when you consider the life cycle of fashion brands. much less one as big as Nike. it's having a midlife crisis. hence the dalliance with CPB. Plus messianic founder Phil Knight is gone. They have a new CEO from random corporation USA.
sorry- who's CP&B again?
